Tara Newton, MD received both her bachelor’s and Medical degrees from the University of Tennessee, and loves to watch her beloved Vols play. She trained in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics, working part time for 20 years while getting to enjoy time as a mom to her four children. They now range in age from 13 to 22, and she is having a blast taking them to ride as many roller coasters as possible! In this new phase, she also discovered a new passion for working to help those battling substance use. Tara has recently added Addiction Medicine as a specialty. She loves getting to walk with patients as they leave their shame behind and embrace recovery; and is excited to be part of supporting The Next Door in this mission as well.
